In Her Own Words
What do you do (in 5 words or fewer)?
Design diversity & inclusion solutions.
What is your dream travel destination?
I dream of (someday) taking an overland trip from the Seven Sisters in northeastern India through Burma and into northern Thailand so I can visit high altitude tea fields and learn to cook some new dishes.
What’s the weirdest job you’ve ever had (before Cook Ross)?
When I was working as Program Assistant for South India Term Abroad, each day was an adventure weirder than the last. I’ve led students through a pack of aggressive monkeys, bargained for the best price for a river boat trip (at one point offering to just buy the boats, which were essentially floating baskets), and waited for hours registering students with the local police because we declined to pay the bribe.
What’s your favorite board game, and why?
My favorite historically was Hasami Shogi (a Japanese chess variant), but I recently learned how to play Backgammon and love it too. Both games have relatively simple game play but an enormous amount of hidden strategy to discover and develop. And I enjoy friendly competition!
What’s the one thing in your life that’s really important to you but you never quite get to?
I strongly believe that if it’s really important to you, then you’ll make time for it. (This doesn’t really answer the question, but hey.)
What’s the best flavor combination you can think of?
Caramel with a sprinkle of sea salt.
If you were an animal, what animal would you be and why?
Sea otter! I like their combination of intelligence & playfulness.
