Interactive theater is a tool used to stimulate learning in a non-traditional way. Many organizations have begun using this approach as a way to quickly engage employees in solving organizational issues real time.
Role-playing is an effective training technique; however, we find that participants are often more focused on “playing the role” than on the learning they are supposed to experience. In Customized Situations, actors take on realistic roles in scenarios developed to reflect the client culture. Participants then give the characters advice “as their friend” or “as their manager.” This allows participants to practice the skills that have been focused on during the class without being embarrassed by “playing a role.” We also use a variety of individual, small-group, and large-group activities to ensure that each course meets the stated objectives in an energetic, creative, and interactive way.
